To assist the needs of the unemployed Carlow Kilkenny Skillnets are sponsoring a FREE workshop to help and encourage those seeking employment

  • Four weeks on site targeted work placement (This will be decided on the first day and will be designed to the specific needs of the trainee)

Overall Aim

To create pathways into sustained employment for the unemployed in their particular career choice

Specific Aims:
 

  • Increase candidates confidence
  • Explore the process of lifestyle changes
  • Identify and develop work skills
  • Develop understanding of the work place and jobseeking
  • Develop networking skills

Objectives
 

  • Provide pre-employment training, including mock interviews and sessions on managing change, planning, motivation and communication.
  • Offer four weeks unpaid work experience with in-house support
  • During the four week process provide on-going support and guidance towards employment and training
  • Introduce participants to a broad range of employers in the locality
     

Effective Personal Productivity
 

The programme, Effective Personal Productivity (EPP), is designed for managers at all levels who wish to improve their skills around a number of broad areas namely:

·         Increased Productivity - both Personal and Team

·         Enhanced Communications

·         Team Development

·         Improved Organisational Skills

The programme is goals driven with the emphasis on the participants applying the materials on a weekly basis in order to address specific business challenges. Unlike many training interventions, this programme encourages participants to apply the lessons each week and measure the impact of these actions. These actions will generate a real return on investment for both the participants and company.

The programme, like all LMI programmes, is FETAC accredited and offers participants three FEATC awards in

·         Personal Effectiveness in the Workplace (FETAC level 5)

·         Communications (FETAC level 5)

·         Team Working (FETAC level 5)

 



Business Intelligence Lunchtime workshop series

Workshop 1: Waking up the Workforce presented by Stephen Dargan

 This 45 minute presentation will help you motivate your staff and encourage peak performance from both leaders and team members. Informative, fun and engaging. Not to be missed                  

Workshop 2: Running Effective Meetings presented by Ciaran May

This 45 minute presentation will help us examine how we spend time at meetings and is this time effectively used for the benefit of our companies. Key tools for managing our meetings and time.

Workshop 3: Customer Service presented by HST Training

We can learn how to improve on our customer sevice skills whether we are in the product or service business. Customer is king and we need to review how we manage customer relations to not only survive but thrive and HST will help us during this 45 minute presentation to review the key principles of excellent customer service.

Workshop 4: Marketing Your Business presented by Conor Kenny 

Conor will help us market our business better and get results. He has worked for many years with various sectors to improve value for money spent on marketing and looks also at social media marketing pros and cons

Understanding Negotiation ( 1 day )

Excellent negotiating ability is the most important skill every buyer should be a master of. Today The sophistication of business relationships with leveraged suppliers, preferred suppliers, strategic partners and others means that nothing less than excellence in negotiating ability is acceptable.

It is said that in a negotiation between two individuals the more experienced and competent individual will always gain the upper hand. That is why when you entrust your staff with the spending power of your company they should be fully versed and capable in the art of business negotiations.
This two day course will help enhance and develop each individuals negotiation strengths and minimise or eliminate common errors, therefore improving performance and contributions to the company’s bottom line (Profitability).
